Alternative Spring Break

Newman sponsors the longest running alternative spring break trip on campus. Young People Who Care, Inc. (YPWC), located in Frenchville, PA, offers a service program that gives students the opportunity to be involved in social justice outreach in an environment of a Christian community. This experience includes service to the poor of Clearfield and Centre Counties in Pennsylvania, and opportunities to work with different people in a variety of situations.

In addition to helping people in the local community, YPWC invites students into a simple lifestyle in solidarity with the poor. Students are directly involved with the daily activities of meal preparation, choice of recreation, planning evening reflection together, and personal processing time.

Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is one of the most life-changing experiences you will every encounter, while also making lifelong friendships.
