Chaplain's Medallion Award

In 1963, the Catholic Newman Community began its mission to unite the mind and heart in the great exploration of truth, starting with a deep desire to attend to the pastoral and intellectual needs of University of Rochester students.  For over 50 years, the chaplaincy has assisted Rochester students in the pursuit of truth and the quest to unite faith and reason.

The Chaplain’s Medallion commemorates the ministry of University of Rochester Newman Chaplain’s. The Chaplain’s Medallion Award is presented to select Newman alumni whose time at the University of Rochester bore significant witness to the high ideals of Catholic life as students and beyond.  Award recipients are nominated by fellow alumni to recognize the positive effect their faith and actions has had on fellow students and the community as a whole, and are alumni who have exemplified their Catholic faith and made a difference within the Newman Community, their parish, community, and career.
